My lovely couple Laura & Joe got engaged in New York. If we could have flown there to do their engagement session we would have!! We tried to emulate NY as much as we could right here in Calgary. It was blast hanging out with these two. Their wedding is next year and we can’t wait!! Here are a few words from this very much in love couple!!!
When is the big day?
July 25th 2015
How did you meet?
I worked in an office with Joe’s brother Emilio. He thought that Joe and I had a lot in common and suggested that we meet so we owe it all to his matchmaking skills (don’t tell him that though). The first time we met was at the Calgary Soccer Centre in 2006. We will have been together for nine years by the time we tie the knot!
When you met what was the first thing you noticed about him/her?
Laura: I think it may have been his hair (is that weird?), his eyes and his smile.
Joe: It was definitely her smile, her curly locks and that cute little nose of hers.
How did he Propose?
Joe and I had been dreaming about going to New York for quite a while so this past March we decided to take a trip there during my spring break. On our third day into the trip, March 17th 2014, we had plans to go to Brooklyn to watch a basketball game so we decided this would be a great day to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. As we were walking on the bridge I had remembered that we had forgotten to bring a lock to place on the bridge and that is when Joe had said not to worry as he had. Once we had reached the middle of the bridge Joe took me to the side and pulled out what was supposed to be a lock in my mind but in actual fact was a ring. Joe then proceeded to drop the ring which dropped through the slats of the bridge down below. Don’t worry it was a fake! Joe has a tendency to drop rings like at his brother’s wedding. At this point Joe then pulled out a ring box from inside his jacket and asked the big question that I have been waiting years to hear. The rest is history!
What do you love about each other?
Laura: I love how supportive Joe is of me and my dreams. While I was going to school for six years to become a teacher there were ups and downs and he was always there encouraging me . Joe is the kindest and most thoughtful person I have ever met. I am lucky to have him as my best friend.
Joe: What’s not to love? Laura is my best friend. She can always make me smile and I love her for that. She is the hardest working most dedicated person I know. She also puts up with my antics on a daily basis.
Favourite hangout?
Joe and I are proud of the home we have built together so I would have to say our favourite hangout is our place.
Favourite thing to do together?
We enjoy spending time together at home relaxing watching our favourite TV shows or movies.
We also enjoy going out for dinner with just the two of us or with Joe’s brother Emilio and his wife Miranda.
What are you looking forward to the most on your big day?
Laura: I am looking forward to celebrating with friends and family. I think it is going to be a fun party! And of course getting to call Joe my husband!
Joe: Celebrating with friends and family is going to be awesome but I’m most excited to see Laura in her wedding dress.
