This amazing couple is getting married in September and we are really looking forward to their big day! These two met in high school and it wasn’t until later in life they met again and fell in love. With these two love was meant to be and will always win!! Here are a few words from this amazing couple…

When is the big day? September 19, 2015.

How did you Meet?

Caroline: Zack and I actually went to high school together, but were never friends. We then lived down the street from one another during University, but it wasn’t until a few years later that we met up. We were both home for weddings (different ones, but the receptions where nearby and things sort of merged!) where we ended up striking up a conversation. Here we are five years later!

Zack: It was June 26 at Woodlawn Park. I had travelled back home to attend a friends wedding from Grande Prairie. Two weddings were taking place at the park, the one I was at and another not far away that Caroline was at. After the dinner and dancing people from each wedding started crossing over to visit with mutual friends. When I started walking towards the other wedding I noticed this beauty in a black dress walking towards me, it was Caroline.

When you first met what did you notice first?

Caroline: The first thing I noticed was how GREAT he looked in a suit. He also has the most gorgeous blue eyes.

Zack: Her smile and assertiveness

How did he propose?

Caroline: Zack and I spent the holidays in Hawaii. It was Christmas morning around 6:30-7:00a.m. and I was fast asleep. My phone kept buzzing and ringing, and when I went to see what was up, it was Zack. He was texting and Facetiming me asking me to get out of bed and check out the sunrise with him. Anybody who knows me knows that getting out of bed is extremely difficult for me so it took Zack quite a bit of convincing. When I finally realized that he wasn’t going to give up, I got out of bed and headed out to the backyard. As soon as I opened up the bedroom door I saw a trail of orchids leading out to the backyard. I followed the trail outside and saw Zack standing under a Palm Tree. As soon as I saw him I felt like the wind got knocked out of me because I knew exactly what he was up to.
(P.S. You should ask Zack about hiding the engagement ring in the spare tire compartment in the trunk our rental car….and then getting a flat tire! I couldn’t figure out why he was acting so funny about me being around while he changed the spare tire).

Zack: We were hiking up the ledge of a crater in Hawaii and thought at the top would be a perfect time to get down on one knee…except for the fact there were about a thousand tourists at the top so I had to abort for a better time/place.

My earlier plan was kiboshed so i decided to do it Christmas morning. At around 2am on December 25th, once everyone was asleep, I jumped the neighbours fence and collected a huge amount of orchids. I laid a path of orchid from our bedroom door to a palm tree outside. Underneath the palm tree I laid a Christmas Stocking that had a empty wrapped ring box. With the prep done I went to bed at 3am and then woke up at 6:50am just before the sun would rise from the beach behind the house. I then texted/facetimed Caroline to come outside to see the sunrise. With a bit of convincing she climbed out of bed and made her way to the backyard. Once she got to the stocking and started unwrapping the box I got down on one knee with the ring in my fingers. Everything after that was blurred.

Favourite thing about each other?

Caroline: How kind Zack is. You’ll never meet a person who doesn’t love Zack. He is such a fun loving, compassionate and giving individual. He can make just about anyone laugh and forget their troubles. Sometimes I can take life a bit too serious, and Zack reminds me to stop, take it all in and laugh.

Zack: Her dedication to her friends, family, and me. Always putting us before herself.

If you could give one word to describe each other what would that word be?

Caroline: Amazing.

Zack: Complete.

Your idea of a perfect date?

Caroline: The classic “dinner and a movie”. Who doesn’t love a good meal and a movie and some popcorn! We also recently went to a PaintNite and had a blast!

Zack: Trying out a new restaurant, having some drinks then going to a movie and stuffing our faces with junk food.

What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?

Caroline: Locking eyes with Zack as I walk down the aisle. I’m going to be a nervous wreck!
