These two are as sweet as apple pie. They love photography and it was very much evident by how much thought went into their engagement session. We captured everything from the sweet light, to the beautiful colours of the fall trees to having a blast at the airport as Kalon loves to fly.
Rachelle is beautiful inside and out and Kalon is an absolute gentleman. They are perfect together and I can’t WAIT for their big day!! Here are a few words this amazing couple!
When is the big day? July 30th, 2016
How did you meet? An Irish Pub in Edmonton (The Druid) during the very snowy winter of 2011 ‘ snowpocalypse’. It took me some time to convince her to give me her phone number as I wanted to take her out for coffee. Her older sister was there and thought I was alright, which may have helped my cause. Rachelle indicated she did not drink coffee so I countered with “I will buy you the best water I can get”. Worked like a charm! The first time I formally picked her up for a date, my car may or may not have got stuck in the snow.
When you first met what did you notice first?
Rachelle’s beautiful eyes and cute voice – these things drew me in. Her thoughtful and nurturing personality is what will keep by by her side.
How did he propose?
On train tracks near Lake Louise (Baker’s Creek Chalets). Rachelle was taking a panoramic photo doing 360s, so I grabbed the ring when her back was to me. It took a few seconds for her to focus on me as I had caught her off guard. Went down on a knee and speech ensued.
Favourite thing about each other?
Rachelle’s Apple Crisp but more importantly, her pure dedication to her family and me 24/7. She works very hard to keep everyone happy and is also sensitive to excluding others, she is an extremely thoughtful person.
If you could give one word to describe each other what would that word be? Warmth
Your idea of a perfect date?
Any escape from routine, either a nice supper together or leaving the city for a retreat. Camping together has always been fun. While we do love spending time with family and friends, I admit we also selfishly enjoy spending time alone together! A perfect date would be essentially our engagement weekend – small trapper’s cabin in the woods, fireplace, Jacuzzi, champagne, a bit of snow outside, no cell-service etc.
What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
Feeling the shiver down my spine as Rachelle walks down the aisle. Moreover, the erosion of my manly pride alongside the inevitable tears as I see Rachelle for the first time that day. She is beautiful every day, I can’t imagine how she will look next summer.
