We are close to the end of 2012 and it’s a bitter sweet feeling. We had an AMAZING year that has taken us everywhere from Costa Rica, Mexico, Banff, San Diego, Vancouver, Kelowna and of course our amazing home here in Calgary. I have been doing this a long time and to this day I still get up in the morning and pinch myself because I truly love what I do. There is not a wedding that isn’t special, there is not a couple that Mike & I have met that hasn’t moved our hearts in one way or another. Every year I look back and feel so fortunate to the friendships that I have forged and being able to meet their amazing friends and families. I make a point to get to know each and every couple not just because we are running a business and it’s our job, but because we know everyone has a story to tell. We are genuinely interested in their story and know that it is our job to help tell the story so that it can be passed along from generation to generation. Pictures are forever and it is such an honour to be chosen to document these weddings.

We had two weddings featured in the Wedding Bells & The Calgary Bridal guide this year. Of course we love being featured, but again it’s a reminder of how many wonderful couples that touch our hearts like Jill, Mike, Jane, and Daniel did. Jill and Mike are one of the most amazing couples I have met. They are strong, funny, easy going, and down to earth. Their friends and family were so caring and funny! We were made to feel a part of the family. We sat with Jill and Mike during the reception and they had is us in tears! Laughter of course!! Oh yes I will say this again…with Mike I finally met my match with my love for shoes. I still think to this day he probably has more than I.

When I met Jane & Daniel I was amazed how beautiful these two were inside and out. Learning of their story of how they met in Nigeria. Their wedding brought me to tears a few times. Nigerian weddings are so colourful….full of music, God and joy! During the reception the dance floor was full and everyone had their hands in the air while singing their hearts out.

We already have a jam packed 2013. We will once again be traveling across the world and also shooting our hearts out here in Calgary. As sad as we are to see 2012 go we know that 2013 is going to be just as amazing with just as many amazing people entering our lives. Most importantly we are so happy to have our new friends that we have met in 2012 and know that each and every image that we have shared with them also takes a little piece of our hearts along with it.
