You know when your bride comes with her Mom for the first consultation and it lasts over two hours……that you are a good fit!! At the time Rob was playing hockey in Las Vegas so I had picked Karly and her Mom’s brain on what he was all about. It was clear that he was a great guy and Karly was and is very much in love. I honestly felt like I was chatting with two long lost girlfriends and had to remind myself that we had just met! They are two wonderful women!!

Once I met Rob I knew that they make a perfect couple. He is a gentle, caring giant and Karly is the high energy, sweet, chatty Kathy. Ying and yang! They have a very similar balance as Mike and I. We get along perfectly. The guys talked hockey and Karly and I chatted about everything under the sun! It was a great day!!

When is the big day? August 17, 2013

How did you meet? Rob and I have a mutual friend named Mitch. Rob was visiting Mitch over spring break from school. Mitch was not 18 but it was my 19th birthday and he was determined to join. Rob and I had never met before and were strangers when this all took place. While I was partying, I was suppose to find Mitch a fake ID of which I never pulled through. However, with no hard feelings Mitch and Rob agreed to pick me up from the bar and we all went Denny’s for a early breakfast.

A year down the road, Rob was invited to a party with our friends Andrew and Kyle and I had shown up with my cousin Kristyn. Kyle and I were good friends as he introduced us, Rob said “I think I know you from somewhere”. Where I quickly responded with “nice line buddy”. After convincing me it was not a pick up line, we remembered our Denny’s night. After the two random meetings, we began to grow a relationship that would always bring us back to each other randomly. We joke about how the world had always wanted us to end up together!

When you met what was the first thing that you noticed about him/her? Rob: The first thing that I noticed about her was her eyes.. that they were and are “gorgeous and beautiful”
Karly: I noticed was how easy it was to talk to him. We opened up so easily to one another and grew a relationship very quickly because of it!

How did he propose? When Rob proposed, I was days away from my due date with our daughter, Audrey. Before we knew about the baby, we had planned to get married but when we found out about her and we didnt want to rush it or make it seem like she was the only reason. Since I still hadn’t received a ring, I just assumed he was going to wait until after the baby was born and I put it out of my mind. He told me that he wanted to make me dinner. We went for a long walk (I was trying so hard to get the baby out!!), then arrived home where he made an amazing dinner. We had a fireplace that failed to start so he asked if I would pick a song and maybe we could just dance. Half way through our dance he said that he wanted to dance with the munchkin. He chatted with my tummy for a bit then said “this is between me and your Mom” and pulled up on one knee. I couldn’t tell you what he said exactly but my response was “are you kidding me?” I was so shocked! It was a cute night!!

What do you love about each other? Rob: I love how silly she gets when she is tired.
Karly: I love how passionate he gets about things that mean a lot to him……and i’m lucky to be one of those things!

Favourite hangout? We dont really have much of a life so our favourite hang out is the couch!!

Favourite thing to do together? The nerds in us makes watching jeopardy our favourite thing to do together!! We are pretty competitive so we make a game out of it to see who can get the most correct answers.

What are you looking forward to most on your big day? Rob: I am looking forward to hearing the vows that she has written for me and of course the party!
Karly: Is looking forward to seeing him at the alter while I walk down the isle. And taking his name….FINALLY!!
