Meet Michelle & Matt! We had the pleasure shooting their session just outside of Merritt at the Quilchena Hotel in Quilchena. A small turn-of-the 20th century boutique hotel with a big heart. It was such a beautiful area to shoot their engagement session. This hotel was built in 1908 and has been in Matt’s family for years. Michelle and Matt took us to all sorts of locations from old barns to an entrance of a shut down mine shaft. We spent over three hours driving around and we were in awe of how beautiful this country truly is.

As you can see we took many detail shots of the land… the horses, plants and of course the stunning hotel! We love when our couples take us places than mean something to them so I wanted to make sure that we not only document their love but the land and the hotel as well. We were invited to stay at the hotel and had so much fun chatting with Michelle & Matt. They told about the ghosts stories, the history of the land and more importantly about themselves. How they met, where they are at and where they plan to go in life. They are nothing but genuine and down to earth. Michelle loves her horses, Matt loves the land that he grew up in and they most certainly love each other. They have become friends and can’t wait to spend more time with them.
