Jill & Mike: Love & boutique Wedding in Banff…

Where do I start with this wedding. I am pretty sure this will be my favourite wedding of 2012. Jill & Mike wanted to keep it small and simple. It was all about good friends and family. You had a feeling that everyone knew each other and the energy was amazing. We went up on the Friday night and met their friends & family. Right away, Mike & I knew this was going to be a special day. The only thing that was a little discouraging was the weather.

Believe it or not this wedding took place a couple a weeks ago. We had rain, hail, sleet and snow. The only time the sun came out was when we were ready to do the formals. Someone upstairs was clearly watching! Now that being said the weather didn’t even phase Jill. She was calm, relaxed and peaceful. Usually the weather becomes a big deal for many brides, but not Jill. We recommended rubber books and umbrellas and that’s exactly what she did. She was amazing!! Jill is sweet, beautiful, caring, happy, easy going (unless she is hungry, of which we both have that in common), and considerate. The word “Angel” came up at the reception speeches and I have to agree. Now Mike is cheerful, fun-loving, handsome, and SOOOOO FUNNY. He oozes humour. You just get the impression that he has rose coloured glasses on which makes him wonderful to be around. Not only that… I have finally met my match when it comes to shoes. I am curious who would win with how many we each have??? His Mom informed me that he has ALOT, so I might lose this battle. He also has a pair of Prada’s and I do not. NOT FAIR!:)

I had a hard time holding back the tears at the ceremony and an even harder time holding back the laughter during the formals. These guys were so much fun! Everyone in the wedding party was energetic & warm. There is definitely some very close bonds between this group.

As you can see Mike is in a wheelchair, but that didn’t stop us from going to any location. He was up for anything and everything! I love that about him. To be honest, I am pretty sure Mike thinks that his wheelchair is a Ferrari because he ripped around like he owned the place and if you wanted a ride you just had to hop on! Mind you he is also very smart at getting the guys to be the engine!

As you can see we adore these two and we are so happy that they asked us to be a part of their big day. We met some great people and experienced a wonderful time. Thank you Jill & Mike! We know you are going to have an amazing life together and I look forward to photographing your little ones! Lots of love – Shawna & Mike.
