Suzie & Marc’s wedding was a day to remember! These two are absolute champs! Of course we started the formals outside as we are in Canmore! When you have a destination mountain wedding we all wanted some formal images with the mountains in the background!! Unfortunately we only lasted ten minutes. It was -42 with the windchill. My couple froze, my fingers froze and one our cameras locked up! Mark and I looked at each other and both agreed this was crazy and today was not the day to capture the pristine mountains of Canmore.

We all scooted over to the Iron Goat Pub & Grill. I have to give a big shout out to the manager Michael. He was so accommodating! It may be a pub but it is absolutely charming inside! From there we quickly popped into the Stonewaters Home Elements store. I was so pleasantly surprised how wonderful the Canmore business owners are. Thank you Canmore!

Other than the cold, the day was beautiful. The ladies were cheery and in good spirits when I arrived. Laura, Amanda & Zoe thank you for being so accommodating. All three of you are absolute sweethearts and Suzie is a very lucky girl! Clair & Clive…it was wonderful to meet you both. I hope you enjoyed your stay and had a safe trip home:). Clive….you do take a good image after all!!! I told you so!!

You can tell by the images of the guys getting ready that Stephan had just as much fun as I did. There are numerous pictures of Marcus, Jordan & Tony with big smiles on their faces. Marc and the boys seem to have the same sense of humour and you can tell that they are very close.

Yvonne and Tom are pretty much the sweetest parents that you could ever imagine having. Yvonne, thank you so much for loving what we do. Your comments were very much appreciated and Mark is a very lucky son to have you both. I blogged more images than usual as I knew it would put a big smile on your face…or you may need to get yourself some tissue.

This was the first wedding of 2014 and I couldn’t have kicked off the year with a better couple than Suzie & Marc. It’s hard not to instantly adore Suzie when you first meet her. She is kind, sweet, genuine and caring. As soon as I met her I knew that her day was going to be special. The first time I had met Marc was on the wedding day. Suzie described Marc perfectly. He has an amazing sense of humour. Dry and witty! When you first meet him you might think he is a very serious man…but it doesn’t take long to see that there is a big goofball behind the suit! These two are a perfect match. It was very clear how loved they are by their family and friends. There were words of adoration with plenty of love and support. The reception consisted of laughter, tears and LOTS of joking around. It’s the kind of wedding that us photographers love to document.

Thank you Suzie & Marc. I hope you two had a wonderful time in Jamaica! You both work hard and deserve it! I am looking forward to seeing you two very soon! Lots of love – Shawna, Mike & Stephan.
