Meet Mandy & Lloyd! I really had to hold myself back with how many images that I blogged! There were so many awesome images because these two are amazing. They have that yummy chemistry that makes it hard to take your eyes off of them. On top of that they have that goofy, fun personality which makes hanging out with them even better during the cold winter. I could have kept shooting but Lloyd’s feet were frozen from gallivanting in the snow and picking up his sweetheart Mandy!
Lloyd and Mandy met on the first day of school while getting on the school bus. They both lived in DeWinton in the country, just down the hill from each other. Mandy was going into ECS and Lloyd was going into grade one. If you ask Lloyd about this story he will elaborate on exactly how he remembers Mandy and what she was wearing…right down to her matching purple shoes and backpack. Mandy would go into detail about how Lloyd was always getting into trouble and would admit she remembers him best as seen through the back window of the bus… as he chased it down the dirt road.
Mandy was always busy studying for post secondary grades throughout high school while Lloyd was busy with wrestling or not attending high school at all. I believe it was because him and his friends where always up to no good… such as releasing gophers into the school or starting fires in the cafeteria microwave. They never dated in high school (Mandy kept Lloyd in the “friend zone”) but they had many of the same friends and attended the same parties together. Lloyd was actually very shy around her!! It wasn’t until they started going to their small town bar that the flirting really began. Mandy would go out dancing with her girls and Lloyd would be there watching with the boys… he was even caught on the dance floor with her a couple times.
After chatting lots while Lloyd was out of town for work, they reconnected and got to know each other better. When Lloyd was home they would spend time walking the dogs and hanging out as just friends. Mandy was Lloyd’s New Years kiss one year and since that kiss they have been inseparable.
“It was her smile that tied me in and her strong ambitious personality… she always knew what she wanted” says Lloyd.
“For me, it was his humor and strong family values that I fell for… he is always making me smile and he just lights up the room” says Mandy.
We are photographing their wedding this summer and we are really excited! Mandy loves vintage ANYTHING so you can imagine how stunning and unique their wedding will be. Thank you for freezing you butts off guys! We had a great time and we are looking forward to seeing you both soon! Lots of love – Shawna & Mike
